Job description

Key Responsibilities: The transport payments controller is responsible for the administration and processing of transport evidence/submissions to facilitate payments for transporters.

This role serves as the primary contact for transport payment-related queries for Zarbon Coal – the logistics business. The role involves coordinating all transport payment activities under the supervision of the Commercial Accountant, following established procedures. The responsibilities are divided into six key areas:

  1. Team Management: Oversee the Data Capturing team and their processing of data on the ERP/SAP system, including capturing/verifying proof of delivery (POD), logbooks, load sheets, invoices, and payment requisitions.
  2. Reconciliations: Ensure billing and payment accuracy through diesel usage reconciliation, route separation for different rates, and confirmation/submission of reconciliations to transporters.
  3. Auditing and Reporting: Audit documentation, invoices, and processes to minimize errors, and compile transport payment reports as needed.
  4. Payment Process Coordination: Manage end-to-end payment processes for transporter and supplier invoices, ensuring timely payments.
  5. Queries Management: Act as the first point of contact for transporters and internal stakeholders, responding promptly to payment-related queries.

Minimum Requirements include a Diploma/Degree in Bookkeeping, at least 5 years of experience, strong communication skills, professionalism, understanding of digital communications, ability to work independently and in teams, meeting deadlines, being organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking and prioritizing.
