Emalahleni Local Municipality, located in the Cacadu region of the Chris Hani District, Eastern Cape, is committed to empowering local youth through its Learnership Programme.
This 12-month initiative, offered under the Directorate: Corporate Services, provides unemployed residents with theoretical and practical training to build skills for municipal services and administrative roles, fostering employability and community development.
The learnership aims to bridge the gap between education and employment for Emalahleni residents, particularly youth and jobseekers with limited qualifications.
By combining 6 months of classroom-based theoretical training with 6 months of hands-on workplace experience, the programme equips participants with practical skills and a national qualification to enhance their career prospects in public service.
12 months (6 months theoretical training, 6 months practical on-the-job experience).
Municipal services and administrative support roles (note: some sources suggest a focus on General Security Practices; clarification needed).

The programme offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical skills and a nationally recognized qualification without study fees. Participants will build a foundation for careers in public administration, contribute to local development, and improve employability in the Eastern Cape's job market.
