Job description

Purpose of the Role : The Bookkeeper will be responsible for the full bookkeeping function for including debtors, creditors, treasury, reconciliations, and general ledger processing.

This role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with both finance and operations teams in a manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities : Debtors : Full function, including invoicing, customer account maintenance, collections, allocation of payments, and resolving queries.Creditors : Full function, including processing supplier invoices, preparing payment batches, reconciling supplier statements, and resolving queries.Bank Reconciliations : Daily and month-end reconciliations for all company bank accounts.General Ledger : Processing journals, accruals, and adjustments in Sage Evolution.Assisting with preparation of management accounts and year-end processes.Reporting : Prepare age analysis reports for debtors and creditors.Support financial reporting requirements for the CFO and COO.Assist with cash flow forecasting and variance reporting.Treasury : Load payments to suppliers, staff, and SARS on banking platforms.Support daily and weekly cash flow preparation, including forecasting and analysis.Operational Support : Work closely with the company's Production Manager to understand operational needs and ensure alignment between production and finance.Assist with stock-related transactions and reconciliations if required.Qualifications and Experience : National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or a related field (essential)Minimum of 4 to 5 years' experience in a full-function bookkeeping role (essential)Experience in a manufacturing environment (advantageous)Advanced working knowledge of Sage Evolution (essential)Key Competencies : Strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesGood communication skills, both verbal and writtenTeam player with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approachAbility to work effectively in a matrix structure, balancing multiple reporting linesDesired Skills : BookkeeperAccountingManufacturingSageDebtorsCreditorsReconciliationBank ReconciliationGeneral LedgerReporting
