Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Location: Midrand, South Africa

Work model: On Site

As a Quality Control Technician at dsm-firmenich, you’ll be the guardian of product integrity—ensuring every ingredient and finished good meets the highest standards of safety and excellence. In a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you’ll apply your technical skills and attention to detail to drive quality, support compliance, and contribute to innovations that shape the future of taste and scent. Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain inspection reports in SAP and LIMS.
  2. Perform inspections across all stages of production (Raw Materials, Finished Goods) as per set cycle time.
  3. Have good knowledge of basic sensory techniques and experience.
  4. Provide Quality Control support for Nonconformance (opening, investigation, and close off).
  5. Ensure compliance and maintain Environmental Monitoring Plan program.
  6. Maintain 5S in the laboratory.
  7. Maintain calibration of quality control equipment as per Quality Control procedure, ensuring all instruments and equipment are kept clean.

You bring
  1. A Ndip/B-tech in Food Technology, Biotechnology & Analytical Chemistry.
  2. Experience in ERP systems SAP & LIMS.
  3. Excellent organizational skills.
  4. Ability to analyze and interpret information.
  5. Knowledge of topics related to food safety: GMP, FSSC 22000, Food Defense, Food Safety.
  6. Ability to work well under pressure.
  7. Good time management skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and in a team.
