Our client based in Germiston is seeking a Production Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate would be responsible for planning and scheduling all production activities across all plants by optimizing available resources. Utilizing the provided software system, the candidate must ensure adherence to plans and make adjustments as necessary. They will oversee the execution of scheduled plans and adjustments to build stock, considering constraints such as product sequence, efficiency losses, warehouse space, customer orders, and input from the Unit Manager and Sales Force.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Lead and train production staff to ensure optimal performance and competence.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and working procedures.
- Prepare raw materials in line with production plans and ensure their consistent availability.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using MAPEI software and define appropriate stock levels.
- Book production confirmations accurately on D365 for semi-finish and finished goods.
- Supervise all production operations according to corporate and local procedures, collaborating with Quality Control to meet quality standards.
- Maintain reliable inventory data and production KPIs, analyzing discrepancies and proposing improvements.
- Ensure equipment is maintained properly, conducting daily checks and supervising preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Investigate non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Participate in industrial tests, ensuring proper formula and packaging usage, and inform relevant functions promptly.
- Assist in managing obsolete raw materials and packaging to reduce waste.
- Oversee stock management of finished products, ensuring proper turnover and compliance with release rules.
- Supervise resource performance, verify staff competencies, and motivate growth.
- Manage headcount adequacy, participate in hiring, and monitor KPIs such as absenteeism.
- Handle team conflicts and, with HR, take disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Participate in physical inventory processes, reducing discrepancies.
- Plan safety and plant protection activities, ensuring safety regulations and PPE usage, maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and safety instructions.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Operations Management or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in production/manufacturing, with at least 3 years in management.
