This person also serves as the representative for Environmental Management. The role involves driving continuous improvement in food safety, quality, and environmental management through monitoring and auditing compliance to standards.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting internal audits on systems such as FSSC and IP Handling, including report writing and implementing effective corrective actions, with feedback to management.
- Ensuring successful external audits by customers and certification bodies to achieve certification and supplier approval.
- Maintaining world-class hygiene practices in accordance with ISO standards.
- Managing the laboratory's efficiency, including equipment maintenance, quality monitoring, record keeping, and statistical analysis.
- Overseeing quality assurance and daily product reviews and reporting.
- Performing sample analysis at external and internal labs, assessing Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and conducting trend analysis.
- Liaising with customers regarding complaints, conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and following up on their effectiveness, including graphing trends.
- Providing training related to responsibilities.
- Leading communication efforts through meetings and information sessions.
- Generating statistics for each system aspect to measure performance against targets.
- Preparing business review reports and other documentation for senior management evaluation.
- Conducting internal audits on Environmental Management (ISO).
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience implementing a GFSI Food Safety System and/or at least 5 years as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager.
- Exceptional internal auditing skills for FSSC (or other GFSI systems).
- Experience with ISO audits is advantageous.
