Senior Manager, Green Economy and Learning

Join us at Conservation South Africa as a Senior Manager, Green Economy and Learning. This role is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and involves leading green learning initiatives focused on youth, women, and marginalized groups' employment programs.

Conservation South Africa, an independent affiliate of Conservation International, works to secure key natural reservoirs across South Africa, promoting sustainable growth and development through partnerships with government, communities, NGOs, and the private sector.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Program Development & Implementation: Designing and managing programs like YES for Youth, Jobs for Nature, and others, ensuring climate-smart agriculture impact across landscapes.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Building: Establishing partnerships with NGOs, sponsors, and community groups; engaging youth, women, and marginalized communities in climate response planning.
  3. Administration, Compliance & Supervision: Ensuring smooth operation of programs, supervising staff, and managing data systems like Kwantu and Gnowbe.
  4. Green Learning Content & Communications: Developing educational materials, managing outreach content, and evaluating communication effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Education, Sustainable Development, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in rural development projects and NGO networks.
  • Strong project management, relationship-building, and digital communication skills.
