Job description

We are looking for a Dynamic and Driven qualified Engineer who is passionate about Business Development.

The ideal candidate should be naturally persuasive, confident, and assertive, with a successful track record in hunting and closing deals within the Energy Services / Industrial Chemicals Industry.

Extensive knowledge of B2B sales in utilities (Energy, Water, or Waste) for industry is essential for the role of Business Development Manager.

Summary of Role Responsibilities :

Formulate the Business Development strategy aligned with the company's strategic goals.

Lead the Business Development region concerning all commercial and contractual matters.

Promote the company's image and profile professionally.

Handle tendering for large-scale contracts (Municipal and Industrial).

Present tenders to customers.

Assist in converting leads and sales into contracts.

Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients and partners.

Entertain prospective or existing customers reasonably to promote sales and business growth.

Coordinate plant surveys, including managing data collection for positive enquiry development.

Participate in sales meetings, budget meetings, and seminars.

Prepare daily and weekly reports.

Gather information on activities of similar organizations and report to management.

Continuously update knowledge of products and technologies with internal or external support.

Minimum Requirements & Competencies :

Ideally hold a Degree in Engineering.

Alternatively, possess a B in Sales & Marketing or an MBA.

Fluency in Afrikaans and English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

Extensive B2B sales experience in utilities (Energy, Water, Waste) for industry.

At least 10 years of experience in Sales / Business Development within Industrial Chemicals and Energy Services / Projects.

Proven success in hunting and closing deals.

Willingness to travel within South Africa, including overnight stays.

Good understanding of fundamental contractual issues.
