Job Summary

This role involves following the six steps of financial planning as a FAIS licensed financial adviser. The adviser must introduce themselves professionally, present the services offered, and conduct a Financial Needs Analysis (FNA) in Investment, Life Insurance, and Estate Planning. Based on the FNA, the adviser will make recommendations aligned with their accreditation and approved products, and implement these solutions through Absa’s processes. Regular reviews of client needs are essential to ensure continued suitability and compliance with license requirements.

Job Description

Accountability: Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients, bank personnel, product providers, and support staff.

  • Participate in lead activities and sales meetings to identify new opportunities within Absa’s bancassurance structure.
  • Assess client needs using recommended tools, ensuring clients understand the value proposition.
  • Prepare and present recommendations based on client profiles, complying with FAIS regulations.
  • Follow the client engagement process and provide feedback to management.
  • Network actively within the bank and externally to promote the adviser’s value proposition.

Accountability: Achieving sales and growth targets.

  • Plan activities to approach clients, using provided leads and prospecting efforts.
  • Conduct comprehensive Financial Needs Analyses using Avalon from August 2024.
  • Obtain client consent and gather necessary documentation.
  • Discuss solutions, generate formal recommendations, and secure client approval.
  • Complete all compliance and application forms accurately and submit for processing.
  • Review client portfolios annually and maintain ongoing relationships.

Accountability: Managing own commission earnings.

  • Ensure accurate recording of Policy Relevant Information and verify commission statements monthly.
  • Maintain an up-to-date client database and follow up on premiums and lapses.

Accountability: Practice Management.

  • Clarify roles for staff and provide necessary training and coaching.
  • Participate in performance reviews and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain fit and proper status for FAIS roles and provide regular feedback on business opportunities.

Accountability: Personal Development.

  • Attend training to maintain accreditation and FAIS credits.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with FAIS and related standards.

Education

Bachelor's Degrees and Diplomas in Accounting, or Grade 12 (Matric).
