Role DescriptionThis is a full-time role for an Inside Sales Representative at James Walker.

The role involves tasks such as inside sales, customer satisfaction, customer service, lead generation, and account management.

The position is based in Durban and / or Jetpark, Gauteng, depending on the location of the most successful applicant.Role PurposeWorking as part of a focused and successful sales team, to exceed sales targets and KPIs set out in the business objectives.To provide internal commercial support to the field sales team to ensure our customer's expectations are met and service levels are exceeded.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the day-to-day management of customers, generate and convert sales leads.Identify and achieve profitable sales opportunities.Prepare commercial proposals (quotations / tenders, etc.)

in line with customer deadlines or within an agreed timeframe.Receive inbound calls and build effective customer relationships and loyalty to ensure excellent levels of customer service are provided at all times.Build strong customer relationships using a range of communication methods.

Understand customers' business needs and address any issues following sales opportunities.Actively manage any customer complaints and ensure these are resolved to meet / exceed customer expectations.Ensure the smooth transition to the Field Sales Representative (FSR) where sales opportunities for new or existing business can't be progressed via the telephone.Initiate outgoing customer calls with prospective clients to establish qualified appointments for field sales team members.Partner and work closely with key members of the field sales team to provide sales support and prospecting opportunities, including data gathering and follow-up.Proactively prioritize workload in line with the SPS Sales Project.Respond to all cancellation requests, claim handling, and follow standard operating procedures and escalation policies as appropriate.Attend sales meetings and participate in learning and training opportunities to continuously build customer service and sales knowledge.Proactively follow up quotations to determine the status of James Walker's proposals and convert opportunities into orders.Assist in achieving sales targets for designated accounts and / or territories, providing support to the field sales team (e.g., Field Sales Representative, Business Development Manager, and Territory Key Account Manager).Make commercial judgments to negotiate and convert opportunities.Review orders received and communicate contractual requirements to the manufacturing division.Use IT systems effectively and in line with company procedures.Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure customer specifications are adhered to.QualificationsGrade 12 with Maths and Science on Higher Grade (Higher certificate or qualification will be an advantage).Skills in Inside Sales, Lead Generation, and Account Management.Customer Satisfaction and Customer Service skills.Experience in a technical sales environment or technical customer-facing roles.Technical ability to understand and match product offering to specific customer applications.Ability to understand and read technical drawings.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Knowledge of CRM software and sales processes.Previous experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector is a plus.Strong technical / mathematical ability to perform complex calculations and create customized quotations.Additional InformationSeniority level : Entry levelEmployment type : Full-timeJob function : Sales and Business DevelopmentIndustries : Industrial Machinery Manufacturing
