A leading company in Gauteng is seeking a Head of Finance to lead their finance department. The role involves managing financial records, overseeing transactions, and implementing process improvements. Candidates should have a strong accounting background and relevant accreditations like CIMA or ACCA, along with 5 to 10 years of experience.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Finance will be responsible for leading the finance department and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the company's financial records.
Oversee all financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
Drive process improvements to streamline financial operations, reduce costs, and align with group best practices.
Manage banking relationships, foreign exchange transactions, and monitor currency fluctuations and market volatility specific to Nigeria.
Support pricing strategies, cost management, and profitability analysis.
Develop and implement internal control systems, policies, and procedures within the department.
Manage cash flow, process journals, and oversee payroll.
Leverage financial software such as SAGE and group-shared IT systems to enhance reporting, forecasting, and efficiency.
Review and sign off on the annual financial statements.
Assist with SAGE, Synchro team, and other software-related issues.
Must have a strong accounting background.
Willingness to travel for extended trips to the Nigeria branch.
