Job description

Atlas Plant Hire is seeking a dynamic junior diesel mechanic and a truck driver. If you have a Code 14 driver's licence and PDP, and you are a qualified mechanic, send us your CV to [e-mail]. Closing date: 26 May 2025.

Responsibilities:

1. Carry out effective, proactive maintenance of all vehicles.
2. Assist with planned preventative and corrective maintenance of plant and equipment to maximize lifespan and ensure safety.
3. Assist with major installation or maintenance projects.
4. Perform unplanned work from breakdowns and emergencies, prioritizing tasks to ensure a 24-hour callout service.
5. Maintain all paperwork related to job cards, logbooks, and departmental records for efficient stock control and workshop operations.
6. Conduct routine safety inspections on vehicles and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
7. Carry out technical investigations and fault-finding, involving specialist help if needed.
8. Ensure documented knowledge and information on all equipment and systems are maintained and transferable within the organization.

Driver Responsibilities:

1. Handle equipment deliveries and pickups.
2. Service and oversee repairs of equipment for proper working condition at the site.
3. Follow instructions to perform vehicle tests.
4. Provide detailed feedback to the workshop department.
5. Maintain the company vehicle in good and clean condition.
6. Conduct pre- and post-use inspections of the vehicle.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
• A trade test certificate is an advantage.
• EC (Code 14) driver's licence is required.
• Rigging experience is required.
