Role Overview

The client is seeking a Financial Systems Architect to lead, design, implement, and maintain financial systems, automation tools, and data pipelines. This pivotal role involves streamlining finance operations, ensuring data integrity, and enhancing scalability across multiple platforms. The successful candidate will manage a small team, engage in system architecture, and drive innovation within financial infrastructure.

Team and Leadership

• Lead and mentor a small team of financial systems analysts.
• Promote high standards in automation, data integrity, and system reliability.
• Support team development and foster cross-departmental collaboration.

System Design and Automation

• Design, implement, and maintain financial systems and reconciliation tools.
• Build scalable ETL pipelines and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Oversee system upgrades and troubleshoot integration challenges.

Data Integrity and Analytics

• Ensure high data quality across systems.
• Supervise the creation of dashboards and tools that provide financial insights.
• Collaborate with finance and IT teams to align objectives.

Strategy and Stakeholder Management

• Provide technical and strategic input into finance technology roadmaps.
• Translate complex systems architecture into business-friendly language.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors on implementations and enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial systems management or automation.
• Proven experience managing a small team or leading projects.
• Strong proficiency in Python for automation, data analysis, and ETL processes.
• Experience with tools such as Azure, Dynamics 365, and Snowflake (advantageous).
• Strong understanding of process improvement, systems architecture, and internal controls.
• Based in Cape Town with hybrid flexibility.
