The Industrial Engineer will primarily focus on documenting the manufacturing processes of underground mining equipment, supporting our commitment to quality and efficiency during this crucial period.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior engineers and manufacturing teams to document detailed manufacturing processes for Fermel's underground mining equipment.
- Create and update comprehensive process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
- Assist in conducting time studies and analyzing production data to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced efficiency.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Assist in production planning by providing accurate process documentation and contributing to the development of manufacturing schedules.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve product quality through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly in heavy equipment or machinery manufacturing, is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software and experience with process simulation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and propose actionable recommendations for process improvement.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate and thorough documentation.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
