Job description

This role will provide commercial, business decision support, and leadership both strategically and operationally to a business portfolio

Professional Qualification:

  • CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) or CA (Chartered Accountant).

Post-Qualification Experience:

  • Usually 5 – 8+ years post-qualification experience in a relevant commercial or financial role.

Business Partnering:

  • Proven experience working closely with commercial teams (sales, marketing, operations) to support decision-making.
  • Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • Experience in forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Strong Excel and/or financial modeling skills.

Strategic Insight & Decision Support:

  • Demonstrated capability to provide strategic insights that drive profitability, optimize costs, or influence key business initiatives.
  • Exposure to investment appraisal, pricing strategies, product profitability, or customer profitability analysis.

Commercial Acumen:

  • Understanding of business drivers, KPIs, market dynamics, and how financial decisions impact business outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence:

  • Ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders, often including directors and senior managers.
  • Clear and confident communication of complex financial issues to non-finance personnel.

Systems & Tools:

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., JDE, OnBase) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
