Role Purpose/Business Unit:
To oversee installation and maintenance of all plant and network facility locations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- To ensure optimal plant performance in accordance with site standards to ensure integrity of network equipment environment.
- To ensure optimal performance of plant with regards to plant facilities.
- To provide support to various Vodacom network equipment stakeholders/departments with regards to plant facilities planning and maintenance.
- To ensure a well-maintained plant facility through the efficient management of maintenance and other contracts.
- To ensure compliance to site standards with regards to plant planning and maintenance.
- To compile reports on plant performance as well as all required statistics and ad hoc reports as per required timelines, standards, and formats.
- To evaluate and analyze requests for plant and equipment expansion/reconfiguration.
- To provide supervision to contractors performing work on planned or any other external team.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Minimum relevant 3-year degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering (National Diploma / T3 / S4 / N6) (Essential).
- Wireman’s Licence (Essential).
- 3-5 years' experience in telecommunications datacentre environment inclusive of AC, DC, air conditioning, alarm system, and fire detection.
- Good knowledge of relevant policies and procedures (Facility maintenance policy and MTX policy).
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in an electrical discipline (Essential).
- Previous experience in plant maintenance (Essential).
- Telecommunications (GSM) experience (Desirable).
- Network components, rectifiers, batteries, air-conditioning, fire-protection, UPS, AC Power / DC Power.
