Job description

Rubicon Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

The Stock Controller is responsible for executing inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stock holding and increases paperwork accuracy. The role involves working with purchasing, receiving, the Warehouse Coordinator, and Logistics Manager to ensure functions are carried out correctly according to Standard Operating Procedures. The goal is to ensure 100% stock accuracy and reduce costs. This role also includes assisting with driving duties as required.

Junior Stock Controller Responsibilities
  1. Manage and reconcile daily counts and full stock counts.
  2. Manage the receiving department.
  3. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
  4. Perform daily cycle counts.
  5. Implement and improve processes and procedures.
  6. Ensure all daily counts are reconciled by close of business.
  7. Be familiar with the store layout to locate stock items accurately by row, shelf, and bin.
  8. Operate warehouse handling equipment following SOPs.
  9. Ensure physical stock and bin locations match system records.
  10. Replenish stock in the correct bin location or sales order, ensuring proper documentation.
  11. Pack away all received orders in the correct bin within 24 hours.
  12. Ensure stock is correctly marked with Rubicon labels and allocated accurately in the MRP system.
  13. Maintain FIFO principles.
  14. Store stock in the correct units of measure.
  15. Manage all stock transfers.
  16. Reconcile stock in all warehouses.
  17. Remove damaged or obsolete stock from shelves.
  18. Run monthly obsolete stock reports and discuss with management or sales.
  19. Keep shelves, passageways, bins, and stock clean.
  20. Provide a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety procedures.
