The Role

We are expanding our world-class partnerships team to support the growth of our enterprise SaaS offering.

We are looking for an Account Executive to cultivate client relationships, articulate the return on investment, and expand our strategic account footprint. The ideal candidate will effectively position Electrum within the minds of CIOs, ensuring our value proposition aligns with their strategic goals.

Having onboarded multiple new enterprise accounts recently, we are experiencing significant growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Navigate complex B2B sales cycles within the financial services landscape to grow our Payments SaaS at tier-one banks and other financial enterprises.
  • Create new revenue streams by acquiring targeted new clients and expanding existing accounts.
Location and Team

Our head office is in Cape Town, but this role primarily serves clients in Johannesburg, mostly banks.

You will be part of our expanding Sales and Marketing team, which offers local and international networking and travel opportunities.

Long-term Goals and Development

Electrum has ambitious long-term goals, supported by training and mentorship to develop effective teams and excellent career opportunities.

Minimum Requirements
  • Five to ten years of enterprise sales experience within the payments industry or a related client-facing role.
  • Proven track record of closing complex deals and achieving targets in a software or technology environment.
  • Experience with enterprise clients, especially within tier 1 banks and financial services.
  • Relevant university degree and ability to position technical solutions in a business context.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to navigate complex sales cycles.

First Six Months
  • Build and nurture key client relationships.
  • Create account and opportunity plans for short, medium, and long-term growth.

  • Collaborate with pre-sales and marketing teams to articulate and close technical sales.
Longer-term Business Outlook
  • Continue developing a sales pipeline and explore new growth opportunities.
  • Research market size, target personas, and product fit.
  • Work with product and marketing teams on development and outreach strategies.
