Job Specification

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract position within the Operations division, providing professional, business-focused HR services. The role involves managing the full recruitment process, from talent sourcing to onboarding and retention.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring candidates fit the role and company culture.
  2. Owning all ER processes within the Operations department by guiding line management and employees.
  3. Consulting with the ER department on complex matters and updating them on ER developments.
  4. Working with line management on departmental manpower planning.
  5. Driving HR-related cost savings and managing the manpower budget as set by executive management.
  6. Coordinating performance appraisals, job evaluations, development plans, succession planning, and training plans.
  7. Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices.
  8. Promoting a safe work environment and organizing training programs in partnership with Learning and Development.
  9. Administering benefits and compensation accurately and efficiently.
  10. Developing employment equity plans in partnership with Transformation and ensuring adherence.
  11. Managing the EC HR system and ensuring timely updates.
  12. Promoting new ways of working, supporting change, and managing risks.
  13. Analyzing trends and metrics with the Director HR to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  14. Conducting stay-in interviews, recommending retention interventions, and monitoring outcomes.
Minimum Skills Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • 3-5 years experience as a Human Resources Manager.
  • 8-10 years experience as an HR generalist, preferably in Mining, Engineering, or Manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent ER/IR experience, especially in highly unionized environments.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, including the SEIFSA Main Agreement.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially advanced Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and own transport.
