Job description

HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR

Our client, based in Athlone, requires a competent candidate for the efficient administration of the Human Resources Department. The role involves ensuring all HR-related documentation is easily retrievable and maintaining a good administration system at all times.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. General Administration
    • Responsible for the smooth administrative running of the department, including setting up and maintaining a sound filing system for the HR department.
    • Ensure all filing is completed weekly.
    • Maintain proper record keeping and sound HR administration, including leave administration and maintenance of employee details on the SharePoint system. Act as custodian of all employee files.
    • Administer HR functions such as HR correspondence, casual Time and Attendance, and spreadsheets.
    • Control all temporary contracts, ensuring they are completed correctly and signed by the Manager and Employee. Return incorrect contracts to the relevant departmental head.
    • Capture all temporary contracts received and submit a report to the HR manager on the 25th of each month, as well as reports to departmental and middle managers.
    • Administer all temporary appointment contracts, ensuring all documentation (application forms, ID, bank details, driver's licenses, work permits) are in order. Responsible for the administration of permanent appointments.
    • Manage Employee induction for all BU and Casual Recruits.
    • Conduct casual recruitment processes.
    • Maintain records and statistics of recruitment and selection processes.
    • Handle HR issues, disciplinary matters, grievances, and coordinate HR functions.
    • Participate in ad hoc projects as dictated by the business.
    • Coordinate HR functions, including Health and Safety, Employment Equity, and Shop Steward meetings.
Requirements
  1. Matric qualification.
  2. Good understanding of all HR-related legislation.
  3. Knowledge of the operation of each individual department within the business.
  4. Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and structures.
  5. Organized with good administration skills.
