Job summary

A leading company in power solutions is seeking a skilled technical sales professional to drive customer engagement and sales in Southern Africa. The role involves developing leads, preparing proposals, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the power industry. Candidates should possess a degree in a relevant field and have extensive experience in technical sales within the power sector.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of technical sales or engineering experience in a power environment.
  • Five or more years of experience in Reciprocating Engines Power Solutions Projects of 5MW and above.
  • Strong understanding of Southern Africa market conditions.

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develop and close customer leads for Power Solutions Projects, achieving sales goals to increase market share in Southern Africa.
  2. Responsible for sales of power solutions and auxiliary equipment.
  3. Provide technical and commercial proposals through direct liaison with domestic and international clients.
  4. Prepare technical and commercial offers to grow the order book.
  5. Visit various territories to identify power rental business opportunities.
  6. Build and maintain excellent customer relationships with electric power stakeholders.
  7. Contribute to the growth of the Power Solutions business by developing a robust opportunity pipeline.
  8. Gather market and competitive intelligence to support sustainable business development.
  9. Conduct commercial and contractual reviews to ensure Power Solutions deliverables are met.
  10. Manage reporting activities effectively.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies
  • Matric and Tertiary Qualification (Degree/Diploma) in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of technical sales or engineering experience in a power environment.
  • Five or more years of experience in Reciprocating Engines Power Solutions Projects of 5MW and above.
  • Demonstrable product knowledge of Reciprocating Engine Generator Products, Microgrids, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Strong understanding of Southern Africa market conditions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and self-management skills.
  • Growth mindset with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with industry safety standards, regulations, and commitment to safety, quality, and customer experience.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Word Processing and Spreadsheets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong collaboration abilities.
