Responsibilities
- Oversee activities of the QC laboratory and support HACCP, Food Safety, Food Safety Management Systems, and Environmental activities.
- Act as stand-in for QA / QC Manager.
- Ensure QC laboratory compliance with SGS LAB Approval Standards.
- Prioritize testing, troubleshoot, and maintain records according to ISO, LAS, ISO / FSSC standards.
- Assist with specifications on SAP, PL1, and ensure correct inspection plans.
- Perform GMP walks, hygiene inspections, and internal ISO audits.
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances, trend reports, and ensure corrective actions.
- Use 5 WHY RCA and 8D formats for non-conformances.
- Monitor and control customer returns and handle technical queries.
- Assist in audits (Kosher, Halaal, FSSC, third-party).
- Generate scrap notes, trend scrap values, and reasons.
- Participate in Food Safety and Environmental systems, and maintain documentation.
- Assist in developing policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Train staff on food safety, hygiene, sampling.
- Maintain relationships with customers and departments.
- Maintain tariff codes, coordinate NPIs, and assist with IQD of samples.
- Conduct QC meetings, generate reports, and monitor quality near misses.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Pharma, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years in QA supervision or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years as a microbiologist in the food/dairy industry, with analytical and tasting skills.
- Experience with ISO audits.
