Supply Chain Director

Our client, a market leader in the Supply Chain sector, is seeking a Supply Chain Director, based in Durban. The successful candidate will report to the CEO.

Purpose of the Role:

- To drive the achievement of the business’s supply chain strategies.
- To direct the overall Supply Chain Intelligence function, including supply chain strategy, optimization, data analytics, business intelligence, and innovation.
- To oversee the Supply Chain Planning and Coordination functions, including Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and International Planning (imports and exports facilitation).

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Supply Chain Planning
Education and Experience:

- Appropriate undergraduate degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 15 years' experience, including 5 years at senior management/executive level within the FMCG or supply chain sector—covering planning and distribution functions.
- Experience in client and stakeholder engagement and supply chain strategy is advantageous.

Knowledge:
  • Supply chain principles, practices, and tools.
  • Demand and supply planning principles and tools.
  • Warehouse and transport network optimisation principles.
  • Key performance indicators, inter-relationships, and bottom-line sensitivity.
  • Information technology applications, standards, and procedures.
  • Industry standards, statutory, and regulatory requirements related to SHEQ.
Skills:
  • Verbal and written communication.
  • Report writing and presentation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to synthesise information from disparate sources and deliver comprehensive, balanced, and actionable analysis.
  • Ability to read, understand, and develop design documents, hardware specifications, and data flow diagrams.
