KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS :

Strategic Leadership

  • Accountable for fostering a culture of financial excellence.
  • Lead sustainable partnerships between finance and all divisional areas.
  • Provide strategic leadership and advice to the organisation's leadership and Board to navigate the complex financial landscape.
  • Act as the primary integrator and navigator for Mintek, ensuring strategy aligns with economic, environmental, and social factors.
  • Develop and implement operational, commercial, and financial strategies to grow revenue and profitability.
  • Create an environment conducive to success and manage outputs effectively.
  • Promote transformation and improve BBBEE positioning.
  • Ensure clusters receive key strategic information and KPIs to meet responsibilities and statutory obligations, driving financial growth and sustainability.

Creating strategic vision / developing strategy for sustainable success

  • Ensure sound operational, commercial, and financial strategies to expand Mintek’s impact.
  • Lead financial analysis supporting corporate development and investment opportunities.

Supply Chain Management

  • Develop and maintain fit-for-purpose supply chain policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and optimize supply chain activities from planning to customer delivery.
  • Improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction through effective SCM.
  • Implement internal controls and anti-corruption measures.
  • Promote professional ethics and ensure systems eliminate wasteful expenditure.

Financial management and monitoring

  • Oversee financial modelling and analysis to ensure sustainability.
  • Provide timely, accurate financial reports, budget analysis, forecasts, and profitability assessments.
  • Manage assets, working capital, and liabilities effectively.
  • Report on key business indicators and staff performance.
  • Achieve revenue, margin, and profitability targets as approved by the Board.
  • Report trends, challenges, and opportunities to Exco and the Board, recommending improvements.
  • Implement and oversee an effective financial management system.
  • Lead strategic resource planning and operational effectiveness of Campus Management Services.
  • Oversee infrastructure and facilities management aligned with strategy and sustainability.
  • Manage physical assets and promote health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Implement green building principles and sustainable campus operations.
  • Establish performance metrics and standards for internal customer satisfaction.
  • Guide procurement and contracting for facilities services, ensuring value and compliance.

ICT Leadership

  • Set strategic direction for ICT, aligning with digital transformation goals.
  • Oversee ICT systems supporting business, research, and agility.
  • Promote innovation in digital solutions like cloud, automation, and data analytics.

  • Develop an enterprise-wide digital strategy for collaboration and knowledge management.
  • Oversee ERP and other enterprise systems for decision-making and efficiency.

People and Planning

  • Ensure adequate resourcing with the right skills.

Governance, Compliance and Risk Management

  • Develop and enforce policies to improve operational effectiveness.

Qualifications :

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.

Experience

  • At least 10 years’ senior finance experience, demonstrating excellence.
  • Minimum 5 years in executive roles overseeing Facilities Management and ICT, including digital transformation and cybersecurity.
  • Experience managing senior staff and industry knowledge.
  • Proven track record in finance management within reputed organizations.
  • Experience in national and international business engagement.
