Job Description / Responsibilities
- Manage existing customers and develop new client relationships in academic, industrial, and private sectors.
- Forecast and report monthly sales demand through sales project management (Funnel Management).
- Prepare activity schedules, activity reports, and prospect lists.
- Visit clients face-to-face and conduct virtual meetings.
- Promote products to prospective clients and arrange contracts and payment details.
- Arrange product demonstrations, presentations, deliveries, and installations.
- Handle client queries via oral and written communication.
- Receive customer orders and update records.
- Arrange servicing of equipment and provide ongoing feedback to the PC Manager.
- Organize and attend conferences and exhibitions.
- Monitor competitors' products and activities.
- Train customers and arrange product-related workshops, congresses, and roadshows.
- Assist representatives with specific product requirements and ensure marketing materials are current.
- Present market data to the Area Manager & PC Manager for budgeting purposes.
- Maintain current records on competitive products.
- Provide product training to representatives and dealers; demonstrate products as required.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet targets and expand the customer base.
- Stay updated with products and software through self-learning and webinars.
- Participate in budget planning and unit forecasting.
Job Requirements
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field. Masters or Ph.D. preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional sales experience, especially with scientific or technical products.
- Knowledge / Skills / Attributes: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
Working Conditions & Other Attributes
- Travel extensively within South Africa.
- Own reliable vehicle.
