Job Responsibilities
- Strong administration and organizational skills to manage a professional practice, including diary management, answering telephone calls, and tracking messages in the absence of professionals.
- Formatting legal documents and incorporating amendments.
- Capturing timesheets for multiple professionals.
- Preparing resource and client files.
- Preparing pre-bills and billing memos, and sending them to clients.
- Managing debtors in collaboration with the accounts department and clients.
- FICA administration: following up to ensure FICA requirements are complete.
- Some copy typing of a wide range of documents.
- General office and personal administration, including filing.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a secretary in a corporate law firm.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs, especially MS Word.
- Basic knowledge of the Aderant Expert (CMS) accounting system is advantageous.
- Knowledge of FileSite is advantageous.
