Job description

Job Title: Production / Packing Team Leader

To lead a high-performance production / packing team to deliver our products that meet desired quality and cost specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure consistent high-quality production: Adapt processes to optimize production efficiencies and product quality, control process variations, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure continuous operations in the value chain.
  2. Optimize production and costs: Improve throughput, manage raw material costs by understanding formula challenges, optimize throughput in line with quality requirements, and monitor stock levels against plans and demand.
  3. Build high-performance team culture: Motivate and develop the team through competency-based selection, training, coaching, mentoring, performance management, effective communication, and leadership in meetings and initiatives. Ensure good discipline, accountability, and a safe working environment according to the Premier way.
  4. Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance: Maintain health, safety, and food safety standards through training, audits, and corrective actions in collaboration with the risk management team. Promote a safety culture.
  5. Cost-effective production: Plan, organize, and manage resources within budget and plans. Drive continuous improvement through learning, root cause analysis, benchmarking, and feedback integration.
  6. Asset management: Ensure optimal plant asset performance through timely corrective and preventive maintenance following SOPs and maintenance systems.
Job Knowledge & Experience:
  • Food safety requirements (FSSC Intermediate, essential)
  • Supervisory and management principles (Intermediate, essential)
  • Financial acumen for planning, budgeting, and cost control (Intermediate, essential)
  • Performance management principles (Intermediate, essential)
  • Disciplinary and grievance processes (Intermediate, essential)
  • Continuous improvement processes (Basic, desirable)
  • Health, safety, environment, and risk management principles (Intermediate, essential)

Experience: Manager level, with skills in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Management, 5S, Operations & Production Management, Kaizen, Supervision, Manufacturing.
