Job description

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the technical expert for plant machinery from a mechanical perspective.
  2. Ensure compliance with all mechanical statutory requirements.
  3. Provide technical support to the maintenance team, including troubleshooting and fault diagnosis using technical drawings and P&ID's.
  4. Manage complex maintenance activities, including contractor supervision.
  5. Lead root cause analysis during breakdowns and advise on corrective actions.
  6. Ensure adherence to engineering standards during maintenance execution.
  7. Support planning and shutdown activities from a technical standpoint.
  8. Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance service contracts.
  9. Analyze condition monitoring reports and collaborate with the monitoring team.
  10. Identify and implement small-scale improvement projects to enhance equipment lifespan.
  11. Audit and maintain quality standards for maintenance services and plant condition.
  12. Support compliance with asset care procedures and technical documentation management.
  13. Assist in engineering investigations and development of standards.
Your profile
  • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years in maintenance/engineering in heavy industry sectors such as pulp and paper, steel, or mining.
  • 1-3 years as a mechanical technician is advantageous.
  • Experience with maintenance quality management, shutdowns, budgeting, contractor management, and troubleshooting.
