Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical expert for plant machinery from a mechanical perspective.
- Ensure compliance with all mechanical statutory requirements.
- Provide technical support to the maintenance team, including troubleshooting and fault diagnosis using technical drawings and P&ID's.
- Manage complex maintenance activities, including contractor supervision.
- Lead root cause analysis during breakdowns and advise on corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards during maintenance execution.
- Support planning and shutdown activities from a technical standpoint.
- Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance service contracts.
- Analyze condition monitoring reports and collaborate with the monitoring team.
- Identify and implement small-scale improvement projects to enhance equipment lifespan.
- Audit and maintain quality standards for maintenance services and plant condition.
- Support compliance with asset care procedures and technical documentation management.
- Assist in engineering investigations and development of standards.
Your profile
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-5 years in maintenance/engineering in heavy industry sectors such as pulp and paper, steel, or mining.
- 1-3 years as a mechanical technician is advantageous.
- Experience with maintenance quality management, shutdowns, budgeting, contractor management, and troubleshooting.
