Job description

- Assist the Maitre'd in managing the dining room operations, including seating arrangements, table settings, and guest satisfaction

- Supervise and train the waitstaff to ensure consistent and exceptional service

- Assist with creating and implementing menus, ensuring variety and high-quality food offerings

- Maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere in the dining room, ensuring all guests feel comfortable and well taken care of

- Handle guest complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner

- Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and timely delivery of food orders

- Monitor inventory and supplies, placing orders as needed to maintain stock levels

- Assist with scheduling and payroll for the dining room team

- Follow all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized dining room

Requirements:

- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or cruise ship

- Excellent communication and leadership skills

- Strong customer service skills and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning and inventory management

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

- Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus

- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications for working on a cruise ship
