Job summary

A leading company in Durban is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure customer satisfaction through quality service and effective communication. The role involves managing site operations, performing repairs, and maintaining stock levels. Candidates should have relevant NQF certifications and experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Completed NQF level 4 certification with an apprenticeship program (minimum 4 years).
  • Completed Electrical / Mechanical Engineer Diploma / Degree with at least 12 months shadowing a competent lift mechanic.
  • Good communication skills with basic IT skills.

Job description

RPO Recruitment has a client that is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team of professionals in Durban.

Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for customer satisfaction through quality of service and through regular proactive and precise onsite communication.
  2. Responsible for accurate and real-time back reporting of work performed.
  3. Maintain excellent relationships with the customers, contact persons, and end users on site.
  4. Manage the site environment during service operations.
  5. Identify site risks and communicate any such occurrences in a timely manner.
  6. Identify unplanned service repairs based on equipment needs, contact the onsite contact person, obtain approval if not covered by the contract, and perform repairs.
  7. Manage PAR stock levels (shelving, inventory, stock transfer) and ensure timely issuance of replenishment orders.
  8. Submit timesheets accurately and promptly.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  1. Completed NQF level 4 certification with an apprenticeship program (minimum 4 years).
  2. Completed Electrical / Mechanical Engineer Diploma / Degree with at least 12 months shadowing a competent lift mechanic.
  3. Completed NQF level 5 certification with at least 12 months shadowing a competent lift mechanic.
  4. Good communication skills with basic IT skills.
