Group Aftersales Field Operations Manager

Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to fill the position of Group Aftersales Field Operations Manager in the Group Aftersales Department – NSO Sandton.

Brief Role Description

The successful candidate will manage the specialist field force team for after-sales, primarily responsible for company and Group Parts turnover objectives, oil & tyres, motor body repairs, and converters.

By interfacing the Group Parts Division with the dealer network through consultation and activities in the Dealer Support Centre, we aim to create the best motor dealer franchise parts departments that support high customer satisfaction within South Africa and the Sub-Sahara Region.

Possible Tasks within this Role
  1. Determine and set achievable sales targets through research and dealer consultation to optimize genuine parts.
  2. Manage Company Group Africa and dealer organization to achieve sales results above budget.
  3. Develop and coordinate annual incentive trips for both PARTS and SERVICE Departments.
  4. Manage the field force and dealers to meet desired objectives.
  5. Provide consultation and dealer interfacing via feedback from mystery shopping and franchise standards audits, handled through Regional Parts Managers and the Dealer Support Centre.
  6. Coordinate and control all dealer meetings, including sub-committees, roadshows, launch events, and individual groups, providing accurate feedback on current and strategic issues.
  7. Support all Service and Parts Dealer Training, including the appointment of qualified Service and Parts Managers.
  8. Conduct follow-up meetings with dealers not achieving results to discuss reasons and actions to improve performance, monitoring progress to ensure sustainability.
  9. Facilitate customer (dealer) survey feedback and develop action plans to address gaps, communicating strategies to the network.
  10. Ensure departmental operations are efficient, meeting objectives, budget, and staff development targets set by the Division Head, including For Motion targets.
  11. Develop strategies to improve Homogeneous Part Groups sales and counteract declining performance.
  12. Build relationships with senior stakeholders in the insurance industry to generate leads and increase market share for the Save a Car Program, enhancing sale potential for Group Parts.
Qualification Requirements
  • Degree in Sales & Marketing Management
Experience Needed
  • 5-8 years of postgraduate management or specialist experience in Sales and Marketing
  • Good understanding of financial measures, principles, and dealer networks (all brands preferable)
  • Experience or understanding of the advertising business
  • Forecasting and target-setting experience
  • Proficiency in QMF and MS Office; detailed knowledge of SAP is mandatory
  • Excellent negotiation skills
