Job description

CREDIT ANALYST : COMMERCIAL BANKING & TRANSFORMATION

LOCATIONS : CAPE TOWN x1, POLOKWANE x1, UPINGTON x1

JOB PURPOSE

To manage and perform quality credit analysis, including financial data collection, trend analysis, peer comparisons, and industry overview, to ensure high-quality credit submissions to Credit Managers and Credit Committees for the allocated portfolio. This includes:

  • Commercial and Transformation Credit applications
  • Mitigating potential risks on behalf of the Company
  • Recommending bankable solutions in accordance with the approved Credit Policy, norms, and delegated authority

Responsible for maintaining the portfolio, conducting annual credit reviews on existing accounts, and re-advancing production and revolving loans within the assigned DOP, as required by management.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-year Tertiary Qualification (Commerce), majors in Accounting, Agriculture Economics, or Credit Management
EXPERIENCE
  • 3 years relevant credit assessment experience
  • Thorough knowledge of NCA, CPA, FICA, and related credit regulatory requirements
  • Experience in primary and secondary agriculture sector finance
  • Appraisal of credit proposals and deal structuring for assets finance, working capital, and backward/forward integration finance
  • Advanced business acumen
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Carry out full credit assessments within the allocated portfolio, including credit submissions, financial analysis, reviews, loan re-advancement, collateral analysis, and risk management
  • Check credit submissions for completeness and ensure all required documentation is received
  • Coordinate with Provincial offices to obtain supporting documents
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • NCACPAFICA and related credit regulatory requirements
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience
