Reports To: Assistant Principal or Principal
Purpose of Role: SPARK Schools teachers drive student achievement by maintaining high expectations for classroom culture, behavior, and academic growth for all scholars.

SPARK Schools Senior Phase Sign Language Educators are content specialists in reading, writing, and signing in Sign Language.

High school Senior Phase educators equip scholars with knowledge and tools required for matriculation and work collaboratively in an inquiry-based curriculum. Senior and FET Phase Second Additional Language teachers are integral to our culture and our commitment to rigorous, engaging learning experiences.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan and deliver face-to-face and distance lessons, including academic and club activities.
2. Collaborate with colleagues to develop engaging learning experiences and individualized behavior and learning plans.
3. Participate in professional development sessions.
4. Develop and administer assessments to track and analyze student progress.
5. Lead social and emotional development sessions.
6. Support low-performing scholars and extend high-performing scholars.
7. Participate in place-based education and career pathways education as required.
8. Promote SPARK culture and implement behavior management strategies.
9. Communicate professionally with stakeholders.
10. Maintain professionalism at all events.
11. Nurture a high-achieving environment where scholars feel valued.
12. Promote the vision and mission of SPARK Schools.
13. Implement crisis management strategies.
14. Adhere to child protection, anti-bullying, health, and safety policies.
15. Attend events and meetings as required.
16. Submit student results data when needed.

Qualifications and Criteria:

• Fluency in English and Sign Language.
• Completed B.Ed or PGCE in Second Additional Language, Sign Language.
• SACE registration.
• Clear criminal record.
