Are you a seasoned Customs Specialist with deep knowledge of South African import regulations and a passion for compliance excellence? A leading company in the clearing and forwarding industry is seeking a highly skilled professional to take ownership of their customs operations and ensure seamless, compliant trade processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with SARS customs legislation and regulatory changes.
• Lead accurate tariff classification and duty analysis.
• Oversee all customs entries, refunds, permits, and corrections.
• Act as the key liaison with SARS, NRCS, SAPS, ITAC, and other government agencies.
• Identify risk areas and lead internal customs audits.
• Provide expert advice to internal teams and improve operational compliance processes.

Requirements

• Grade 12 and a tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a Customs Clearance Certificate.
• At least 8 years of customs clearing experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior or advisory role.
• Strong technical expertise in tariff classification, customs procedures, and SARS systems.
• Proven ability to handle customs inspections, audits, and duty-related reconciliations.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work extended hours and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
