Purpose of Position:
Assumes duties and responsibilities for Infection Control activities in the hospital under the supervision of the Infection Control Coordinator and Committee.

Maintains surveillance of all hospital areas and laboratory data related to infection control, including identification of nosocomial infections.

Investigates hospital disease outbreaks, maintains accurate records for the Infection Control Unit.

Plans and provides hospital-wide education programs in infection control for staff and participates in orientation programs.

Key Result Areas:

  • Coordinate activities related to Infection Control as directed by the Infection Control Specialist.
  • Assist in planning and implementing Infection Control programs in accordance with standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Participate in developing and delivering in-service education and orientation programs on Infection Control.
  • Establish and maintain standards for Infection Control ensuring compliance with JCI, OSHA, CDC, and local MOH regulations.
  • Review and interpret procedures and policies related to Infection Control for staff and management.
  • Maintain records of isolated patients and monitor nosocomial infection prevalence monthly.
  • Collaborate in developing and revising Infection Control policies and procedures.
  • Work with medical staff to uphold patient care standards related to Infection Control.
  • Participate in programs that promote Infection Control within clinics.
  • Prepare and submit infection reports periodically to relevant authorities and departments.
  • Review environmental cleanliness and address concerns promptly.
  • Investigate infection outbreaks to identify sources and resolve issues.
  • Ensure staff compliance with international accreditation standards.
  • Identify and report situations that pose risks to patients, staff, or visitors.
  • Complete infection control documentation as required by MOH.
  • Engage with healthcare professionals to resolve infection control issues and improve services.
  • Conduct regular meetings to evaluate infection control practices and issues.
  • Follow up on staff health screenings and vaccination status.
  • Compile quarterly reports on infection incidence and prevalence, benchmarking across clinics.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
