Financial Manager – Luxury Hotel | Cape Town

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience
Location: Cape Town
Software Experience Required: Opera & MiCROS essential

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a dynamic and highly capable Financial Manager for a luxury hotel in Cape Town. This is a senior opportunity for a motivated professional to join a high-performing team and oversee the financial operations of a prestigious property.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • B.Compt Honours Degree (minimum requirement)

  • CA, CIMA, or Articles (advantageous)

  • 3-4 years' experience in a similar financial role

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Opera, MiCROS and preferably NAV (Microsoft Dynamics 365)

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting

  • Preparation and presentation of management accounts

  • Delivery of accurate financial reports for planning and decision-making

  • Ensure adherence to reporting deadlines

  • Verify accuracy of daily, monthly and other management reports

Cash Flow Management

  • Maintain and utilise cash resources effectively to meet obligations

Budgeting

  • Oversee and manage the annual budget process

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and analyse financial risks and opportunities

  • Provide strategic insights and support decision-making processes

Financial Control & Compliance

  • Maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies

  • Oversee tax obligations including PAYE, VAT and related matters

Payroll

  • Coordinate monthly payroll in conjunction with HR

Auditing

  • Oversee annual financial and BEE audits

  • Ensure all audit requirements are met and financials are audit ready

Insurance

  • Manage annual insurance renewal processes

  • Liaise with insurance brokers regarding claims

IT & Information Systems

  • Ensure financial systems and data comply with POPI and operational standards

  • Safeguard financial and sensitive business information

Business Management

  • Align financial operations with broader business goals and support operational teams

  • Translate strategic objectives into measurable financial outcomes

General Duties

  • Mentor and support finance team members

  • Oversee and assist with daily accounting tasks and control account reconciliations

This role is a vital part of the hotel’s strategic management team and reports directly to the Managing Director, with indirect reporting to the Group CFO. The successful candidate will be instrumental in creating a sustainable, efficient, and compliant financial environment within the hospitality business.
