Requirements
- Grade 12 plus an appropriate qualification that allows registration as an independent Practitioner.
- No experience required after registration as a Medical Registrar.
- Must have completed Post Community Service.
- Registration with HPCSA for the financial year 2025/26.
- The successful candidate will be rotated between institutions.
- Advantages include: Work experience in Emergency Medicine; CMSA part 1 examinations; auxiliary courses relevant to Emergency Medicine.
Duties
- Perform duties according to guidelines set by the GDOH, University of Witwatersrand, and Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.
- Provide clinical training, teaching, and assist in examinations of students.
- Interview, investigate, diagnose, and oversee patient treatment and administrative duties.
- Participate in departmental meetings, journal clubs, case presentations, lectures, and ward rounds.
- Ensure proper administration and record keeping.
- Undertake research and present at academic meetings.
- Promote good working relationships among colleagues and departments.
- Be available for ongoing assessments, signing performance agreements, and quarterly reviews.
Notes
- Positions are joint appointments with the Gauteng Department of Health and academic institutions: University of Witwatersrand, University of Pretoria, and Sefako Makgatho University.
- No payment is required for application submissions.
