Job description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies requires a reputable Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant for their Centurion Mall store.

Your role involves providing pharmaceutical care by managing patients' medicine-related needs and being accountable for meeting these needs.

Minimum Requirements :
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • Experience with Unisolv
  • Sound numerical skills
  • Strong command of English and another language
  • Willing to work retail hours
Advantageous :
  • Knowledge of Retail / FMCG operations
  • Third additional language
  • Experience with SAP and E-Scripting
  • Knowledge of drug, family planning, and complementary medicine
Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Assist with the sale and preparation of medicines and scheduled substances
  • Assist with re-packaging, stock control, and ordering of medicines
  • Read, interpret, and prepare prescriptions accurately
  • Ensure all medications are checked and dispensed responsibly
  • Provide patient instructions and advice on medication use
  • Process claims and handle medical aid paperwork
  • Maintain accurate customer profiles and stock records
  • Exercise stock, cash, and asset control
  • Follow safety and security protocols

Skills required include attention to detail, problem-solving, teamwork, trustworthiness, time management, and the ability to work under pressure.

Special conditions include being physically fit, having a valid driver's license, and clear credit and criminal records.
