Job description

The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) will lead investment strategy, portfolio performance, and capital-raising efforts, working closely with the CEO, board, and senior leadership to ensure financial growth and sustainability.

Required Qualifications :

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent; MBA is advantageous
  • 10+ years of experience in CFO / CIO roles.
  • Strong finance, accounting, and investment expertise.
  • Proven success in capital raising and investor relations.
  • Experience in Southern & Eastern Africa, preferably within the Agricultural sector

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead capital-raising efforts, engage with investors, and oversee financial due diligence and deal closures.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies, ensuring long-term sustainability and alignment with business objectives.
  • Identify, assess, and analyse potential investment opportunities to support business expansion and growth.
  • Drive pricing strategies, manage cash flows, and oversee cost structures to maximize returns.
  • Ensure financial governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management across all investments.
  • Strategically allocate financial resources to optimize business performance and investment growth.
  • Track financial performance, prepare reports, and provide insights to improve operational efficiency.
  • Present financial data, investment analysis, and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board.
