Job Title / Role : System Engineering Project Manager

Role Headline

Designs, develops, and manages customer Automation / Control system projects across various industries, according to defined customer standards and industry norms. Manages projects within the PM@ Siemens, Project Management (PM) standards, and customer requirements, with responsibility for economic results. Leads tender development from pricing to offer document creation and control.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Consults with customers on technical solutions alongside Sales Manager or Key Account Manager.
  • Clarifies customer targets, requirements, and specifications in RFPs.
  • Prepares participation in tenders and leads negotiations both technically and commercially.
  • Coordinates overall project planning and resource allocation.
  • Clarifies specifications and liaises with the internal Project Manager.
  • Monitors milestones and budgets, initiating actions to minimize non-conformance costs.
  • Maintains constant communication with customers, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Leads technical system design, including onsite installation and commissioning.
  • Coordinates commissioning measures onsite with Site Engineering Management.
  • Leads hardware design and component integration.
  • Involved in onsite commissioning activities.
  • Ensures unified design between hardware, drawings, and software coding.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, preferably in instruments and controls.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in design (Electrical panels), construction, and operation of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems in industrial environments (Green and Brownfield projects).
  • Proven track record in delivering complex systems and solutions, including engineering and construction work.
  • Ability to work independently, making decisions and taking actions.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems using Siemens product range, drives, and switchgear, including selection, design, and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with NEC 3, Fidic, and JBCC contract management.
  • Cross-border experience in Africa is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and E-plan is advantageous.
