The Relationship Manager : Emerging Business is responsible for managing and growing the portfolio of emerging business clients at Access Bank South Africa.

This role involves developing strong relationships with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), understanding their unique financial needs, and providing appropriate banking solutions.

The Relationship Manager will work closely with clients to help them achieve their business goals while ensuring the profitability and growth of the bank's emerging business segment.

Requirements
  1. Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of emerging business clients, acting as their primary point of contact.
  2. Understand clients' business models, financial needs, and growth aspirations to offer tailored banking solutions.
  3. Proactively engage with clients to identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling banking products and services.

Business Development: Identify and acquire new emerging business clients through networking, market research, and targeted outreach.

Develop and execute strategies to expand the bank's market share within the emerging business segment.

Work with internal teams to develop innovative products and services that meet the evolving needs of emerging businesses.

Credit and Risk Management: Conduct thorough credit assessments of clients, analyzing financial statements, business plans, and market conditions.

Collaborate with the credit risk team to ensure that credit facilities are structured appropriately and comply with the bank's risk appetite.

Monitor clients' credit performance and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.

Financial Performance: Achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets, contributing to the overall profitability of the emerging business segment.

Monitor and report on the financial performance of the client portfolio, ensuring that revenue and profitability targets are met.

Develop pricing strategies that balance client needs with the bank's financial objectives.

Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with internal teams, including product development, credit risk, and operations, to deliver seamless banking solutions to clients.

Share insights and best practices with colleagues to contribute to the overall success of the business banking team.

Market and Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes that may impact emerging businesses.

Provide clients with insights and advice on how to navigate market challenges and seize opportunities.

Represent Access Bank at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance the bank's profile in the emerging business segment.

Customer Experience: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and support to clients.

Address and resolve client issues promptly, maintaining a strong focus on client retention and loyalty.

Regularly gather feedback from clients to improve service delivery and product offerings.

Academic Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.

Must have RE5.

Work Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business banking, with a focus on SMEs or emerging businesses.

Proven track record of managing client relationships and achieving sales targets.

Strong knowledge of banking products and services for SMEs, including credit facilities, transaction banking, and cash management.

Knowledge of the South African business landscape and regulatory environment is essential.
