Job description

Leading manufacturer of food ingredients, spices, and sauces is looking for a qualified Food Technologist or Food Science Graduate to join their sales team.

Minimum qualification: Matric. A degree in Food Technology or an equivalent qualification is advantageous.

Minimum of 3 years sales experience, preferably within FMCG.

Basic cooking ability demonstrations and presentations to clients/customers.

Ability to conduct formal presentations and communicate effectively.

Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan sales calls to ensure a value-added approach
  • Learn and apply client classifications
  • Plan to build market share across all categories
  • Drive and achieve volume and budget targets across all Freddy Hirsch categories
  • Conduct demos and other ad hoc activities as required
  • Build on and research product and industry knowledge
  • Work on promotional activities as per guidelines
  • Build client relationships and ensure service effectiveness
  • Analyze competitor activity and market trends; provide market intelligence feedback
  • Submit weekly sales and ADAPT reports by the deadline
  • Proactively seek new business and market opportunities
  • Manage sales administration and other duties as required
  • Ensure deliveries meet company standards where appropriate
  • Maintain C-Track in line with company standards
  • Monitor stock levels
