Job summary

A leading company in the automotive sector is seeking a skilled Technician to perform electrical maintenance and fault finding on various machinery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the electrical field, particularly within an automotive environment, and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Technician/Millwright in the Electrical field within an Automotive environment.
  • Qualified Electrician, Millwright, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general electrical maintenance and fault finding on hydraulic presses and CNC-milling machines.
  • Repair and maintain press machinery to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Compile feedback on timesheets for accurate repair data.

Job description

Primary Purpose Of The Job

Perform general electrical maintenance, preventative maintenance, and fault finding on hydraulic presses, industrial robots, CNC-milling machines, and spot-welding stations.

Key Performance Areas
  1. Repair and maintain press machinery to ensure customer and company quality standards are met.
  2. Conduct fault finding and preventative maintenance as per schedules, job cards, and work instructions.
  3. Compile feedback on timesheets for accurate repair data and submit to the Senior Instrumentation Technician.
  4. Ensure adherence to company procedures, work instructions, and quality systems at all times.
  5. Participate actively in departmental M2S initiatives as per company requirements.
  6. Ensure work practices comply with SHEQ procedures and work instructions.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
  • NQF Educational level N6/Diploma/Degree
  • Qualified Electrician, Millwright, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Technician/Millwright in the Electrical field within an Automotive environment
  • Extensive knowledge of PLC programming, Siemens S7, TIA Portal, ABB/KUKA KRC4 Robot, Festo, Fidia, Sick scanners
  • Process experience (Spot welding, INTEC Sealer, Laser welding, Projection welding)
  • Experience with inline measuring systems (e.g., Perceptron)
