Job description

We are looking for an experienced Dispatch Manager for an FMCG company based in Centurion within the frozen food industry.

Position Overview

The Dispatch Manager oversees the scheduling and safe dispatch of all online and retail orders.

The candidate uses their expert knowledge of logistics, scheduling, and transportation regulations to ensure efficient and compliant operations.

Requirements
  1. Matric
  2. 5-10 years Management experience
  3. Transport / Logistics experience 3-6 years
  4. Qualification would be an advantage
  5. Ability to use multiple systems and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  6. In-depth knowledge of the Road Traffic Act, legislation, and transport
  7. Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office and ERP system)
  8. Commercial prowess and proven ability in the customer service environment
  9. Excellent knowledge of handling commodities (fresh, frozen, and dry)
  10. Must be bilingual (Afrikaans & English)
  11. Highly collaborative and focused on teamwork
  12. Leadership skills – display qualities of a good leader and set an example
  13. Result-oriented
  14. Strong focus on customer satisfaction and implementation of opportunities for improvement
  15. Strategic thinker with good analytical skills
  16. A self-starter that is comfortable with constant change
Responsibilities
  1. Loading of trucks safely and effectively
  2. Work closely with transport companies to coordinate the movement of orders outside delivery regions
  3. Ensure cargo/orders are protected during transportation
  4. Inspect orders to ensure correct quantities and products match invoiced items
  5. Implement transport policies, systems, and standards to improve customer service
  6. Ensure timely and safe delivery of customer orders in line with FSMS requirements
  7. Maintain vehicles following company standards and road traffic laws
  8. Maximize space utilization and implement FIFO
  9. Plan and coordinate the movement of outgoing orders
  10. Conduct stock counts as per management guidelines
  11. Lead by example and motivate the team to achieve targets
  12. Communicate policies and manage people-related issues
  13. Maintain a motivated work environment
