Job description

Our client in the telecommunications sector is looking for a SHEQ Manager. Contract duration is 6 months.

POSITION INFO :

Role purpose : Responsible for the end-to-end health and safety, environmental and quality requirements relating to all company activities. This includes developing related policies, systems, and training to enable compliance both internally and externally (including competence vetting - Gate 1 and 2 compliance), while working with all stakeholders to actively develop a safe work environment.

  • Formulate and manage SHEQ operations CAPEX and OPEX budgets, including developing dashboards for management visibility.
  • Proven broad knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of South Africa and its regulations, with at least 5 years of enforcement experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Environmental Management Act 107 of 1998 and related schedules.
  • Knowledge of international standards such as ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, or ISO45001.
  • Practical working knowledge of ISO standards related to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Deep understanding of legislative frameworks including the Telecoms Act, JSE Regulations, OHSAS Act, and others relevant to Tower and Telecommunications companies, with working knowledge of telecommunication service provider requirements.
Must have technical / professional qualifications :
  • A relevant 3-year qualification or professional Occupational Health and Safety qualification, such as a diploma or Bachelor’s degree, with 3-5 years of leadership experience.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant work experience with a proven track record in key disciplines and outputs.
