Role Purpose

To develop, test, deploy, document, and maintain high-value reporting solutions and dashboards across the business using a variety of tools.

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years of Business Intelligence development experience (essential)
• Experience in programming and data warehousing (essential)
• Matric (Grade 12) certificate
• Degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a relevant equivalent qualification
• Understanding of SQL and RDBMS technology (MySQL, MS SQL Server, DB2)
• Experience with analytic software applications (e.g., Microsoft SQL Reporting Services)
• Knowledge of business intelligence tools (e.g., SSRS, Business Objects, PowerBI, Tableau, QuickSight)
• Relational database design experience, including operational data stores and data warehouses
• Detailed knowledge of BI areas such as ETL design, analytics, reporting, and data modeling
• Advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of OLTP/OLAP systems, Dimensional Modeling, business rule transformations, and data analysis
• Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting techniques
• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data warehouses for reporting and analysis
• Develop and maintain Business Intelligence and reporting processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze, and prioritize requests
• Translate requirements into specifications for BI reports
• Extract, transform, and load data using relevant tools
• Design and develop reports and dashboards based on business requirements
• Create technical specifications and process flows for data activities
• Verify data quality and incorporate security measures
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and address issues
• Monitor solution performance and recommend improvements
• Log and resolve issues in existing systems
• Manage change control processes and maintain data warehouse administration
