Job description

Our client, a purpose-driven insurance business operating across international markets, is looking for an Accountant to join their growing team in Stellenbosch. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a collaborative and high-energy environment.

Role Overview:

This role will support the Finance Manager and wider finance team across multiple legal entities. You’ll play a key part in financial reporting, bookkeeping, and the improvement of internal financial controls and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly and weekly management account reporting
  • Production of monthly bordereaux to insurers
  • Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Preparing weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Reviewing and approving invoices
  • Processing and paying supplier invoices
  • Performing daily bookkeeping tasks
  • Supporting the implementation of financial controls and processes
  • Assisting with the annual budget preparation

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Xero or QuickBooks is a strong advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to self-manage and collaborate well in a team environment

Salary & Benefits:

  • R30 000 – R35 000 per month (market-related)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
