The role involves managing stock, processing orders, and maintaining customer records. Ideal candidates will have a Matric qualification and at least 3 years of sales experience in a hardware environment.

Job description

Purpose : To assist customers by helping them choose the product that best suits their needs, in a manner that makes the customer appreciate the assistance of the Sales Person during their purchase.

This includes providing excellent customer service to achieve customer satisfaction, generate sales, promote the business, and create sustainable growth in margins and profits.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Attend to customers in a professional and helpful manner.
  2. Generate more sales and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  3. Control stock levels and perform regular stock counts.
  4. Advise customers on products that best solve their problems.
  5. Place stock orders with buyers if necessary.
  6. Handle relevant administrative tasks, including maintaining customer records, managing special orders, and processing invoices.
  7. Ensure proper merchandising and correct pricing of products.
  8. Participate in perpetual stock takes.
  9. Maintain good housekeeping of the work area.
  10. Perform any other work-related tasks delegated by superiors.
Requirements
  • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3 years of sales experience in the electrical department.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role within a hardware environment.
  • Possession of 5 basic technical supplier competency certificates.
  • Customer service training.
  • Demonstrated acceptable sales techniques.
  • Intermediate product knowledge.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
