A leading company in pathology diagnostics is seeking an experienced Laboratory Animal Technologist for their Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will have an NQF 6 qualification, SA Veterinary Council registration, and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include supervising animal breeding, maintaining health status, and performing scientific testing. Qualifications

• No less than 2 years' experience as a Lab Animal Technologist.
• Great track record in supervision.

Responsibilities

• 2IC Supervisor in case of absence.
• Draft and maintain SOP's.
• Maintain health status of animals.
• Perform scientific testing.
• Drive safety and QC of anti-venom products.

Skills

Knowledge of scientific procedures

Knowledge of SPF barrier units

One of our pathology diagnostic clients are in need of an experienced and registered Laboratory Animal Technologist for their Johannesburg team.

Qualifications and experience :

NQF 6 or higher - Animal Health qualification

SA Veterinary Council registration as a Laboratory Animal Technologist

Affiliated with Institute of Animal Technology

No less than 2 years' experience as a Lab Animal Technologist

Knowledge of scientific procedures

Knowledge of lab animal breeding systems

Knowledge of Good Lab practice

Knowledge of SPF barrier units

Knowledge of how to administer and withdraw fluids on lab animals

Great track record

Supervision

Communication

Key performance areas :

2IC Supervisor in case of absence

Animal research aligned with SAVC

Maintain health status of animals

Perform scientific testing
