Job description

Job Description : We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to oversee the financial operations and ensure the preparation of accurate financial statements for our Group of Companies.

The key responsibilities of this role include budgeting, financial reporting, and conducting internal audits. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining organized financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of each account.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of our expanding real estate office, where you will see the direct impact of your work on a daily basis. The ideal candidate must be open to traveling between branches as part of their role.

Responsibilities :
  1. Prepare supporting working papers for external audit purposes.
  2. Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets.
  3. Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
  4. Manage financial statement audits and other agreed-upon engagements.
  5. Review, analyze, and interpret accounting records to generate accurate financial statements.
  6. Prepare annual, interim, and monthly financial statements and management accounts.
  7. Organize, prepare, and review bookkeeping transactions.
  8. Collect and monitor financial data, including sales revenues and liabilities.
  9. Identify and report on accounting discrepancies.
  10. Conduct comprehensive risk analyses to evaluate potential investments.
  11. Analyze financial trends and provide insights.
  12. Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Requirements :
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
  • 6 - 7 years of experience in financial department
  • Budget preparation and analysis
  • IFRS statutory reporting experience (essential)
  • Extensive CaseWare experience (essential)
  • Tax experience (essential)
  • Sage ERP (advantageous)
  • Additional certification (e.g., CPA)
  • Experience with consolidations (advantageous)
  • AGA (SA) or CA (SA)
